My hometown is very nearby Rotterdam. So when I feel the need to go shopping, I mostly go there. I met Margaret West herself when I was visiting her shop Ginza which is located in Rotterdam. I visited the store before, like years ago. But never really talked to Margaret. She heard about my work and we got in touch very quickly after meeting each other for the first time.
Even though I’m a big fan of striking clothing like prints and bright colors, I’m also all about change and experimenting with different brands. The pure designs of Margaret West definitely caught my eye. Besides, a brand that produces timeless, good quality clothing and doesn’t really focus on trends that much but still is able to create its own style and look, deserves to be in the spotlight!

The brand Margaret West launched on September 2014. The prices of the clothing are affordable, however you get the feeling you’re wearing something you could never afford. This is what the label distinguishes itself from other labels: it’s accessible but high-end at the same time.

The collection manages to always stay up to date. Margaret West is launching new products frequently. The label is dedicated to offering beautiful products with a fair production-process. Yes, my darlings, that means: no exploitation of workers and child labour! Nevertheless creating a fair-trade collection doesn’t have to sacrifice in making a beautiful and affordable one. Preach!
